I was featured today on the Microsoft Blog about how to build true business relationships. This is something I’ve been focusing on over the past couple years. I’ve learned that the best way out there to get is to help other people.
I make myself out there for everyone. I try to respond to every request. I highly recommend every person that emails you, that you respond to them.
When I meet someone, I always try to ask how I can help people. This is one of the best ways that I have found with people to find out what they truly want and need. They will then tell you what they need. I’ve found that when you help someone, they will gain a trust with you that no business relationship could create. Help people as much as possible and it’ll come back to you ten fold.
Build trust to build relationships
Rampton explains that “people out there who are influential and you trust them. But what does it take to build trust?” He mentions that people often write books as a way of helping other people. He puts business leaders in this category: by the decisions they make and what they say, they can inspire others. “That’s a form of help,” he says.
