Have you accomplished everything you should by the time you hit the big 3-0? Check out my latest piece in Chron and see the 29 musts to put on your pre-30 bucket list. How many have you ticked off?

Everyone’s list will look a little different, so I encourage you to use this as a framework and inspiration. For starters, make sure you attend college. It gives you a leg up and makes you uncomfortable in a good way. Learn to actually cook—it’ll save you big bucks and an expanding waist line. Take time to know your family history, and not just to gauge what health risks you might encounter. Now that you’re an adult, it’s time to genuinely get to know your family before some of them are gone for good.

Some put running a marathon on their pre-30 list and while you can certainly undertake an athletic endeavor at any age, it’s only going to get more difficult and draining on your knees. Use your 20s to begin a workout regimen, and tweak it as you go. Perhaps most importantly, start saving now. The earlier the better, and your 20s is a great time to start.
