I was asked to provide one skill that I felt was important to have when starting a business. From my personal experience, I would have liked to have had some programming skills prior to starting my first business. As I noted in the article, since taking ad few courses in recent years, I now have a better understanding for how to build and scale our applications as well as direct others that are helping me with programming. As a result, my business has grown.

The article included many other skills that I have also found helpful to my own startups, including accounting, web development, and public speaking. Of course, being a blogger, I definitely agree with proofreading as a critical skill. With so much of today’s online business involving content in some form, you want to make sure it’s not full of mistakes and grammatical errors that may reflect on the viewpoint of others about the quality of what you offer.
