Are you using the right metrics for your startup? Probably not, since it’s not a feature people spend time researching. Luckily, experts have done the work for you. iMedia Connection asked 11 pros, including myself, what our way to vet a metric company is. Mine is by asking for examples. I ask for a few examples of what they’re previously done and its ROI. This gauges their passion, customer service, and expertise all at once. Sometimes they don’t reply at all—which shows how much they care.
Also ask for their proof of experience. This should be easy for a reputable company to supply and they should be eager to show off. Ask for concrete results, which should also be readily available. Always ask for their plans, or their strategy for putting together a custom plan with and for you.
Gauge the questions they ask, too. Are they listening, or are these stock questions? You may also want to consider how experienced they are in your specific field. They might be great at helping out restaurants, but what if you’re a web development company? Finally, don’t ignore your gut instinct. It’s telling you something for a reason.
