Are your product features actually doing any good? TNW News recently asked me, as well as nine other pros, how you can tell when enough is enough. It’s pretty straightforward to me: If you have no money coming in, what are you spending all that time and effort for? Customers who aren’t paying for your features or news aren’t helping you, your profits, or your business. Give them what they want—and what they’re willing to pay for.
Another great sign? Your audience just might tell you (so listen!). If you don’t have any more pain points, or if your A/B testing (which you should always be doing!) has gone wrong, then it might be time to call it quits. Maybe you no longer know your purpose in offering these features, or you have a product that’s “minimally loveable.” These are all indicators that your product features aren’t paying off.
Find out if your customers know what you’re really doing, and be honest with yourself if and when the product is no longer attractive. Not getting real feedback from your product features? That in itself is another sign.
